On Kokomo Private Island, wellness is more than a curated experience, it’s a philosophy rooted in place. From the moment guests step foot on our remote paradise, the connection to the land, the sea, and the self is palpable. And now, there’s one more way our island home is deepening that bond - this time, with a touch of golden nectar.
Once every few months, when the bees have done their sacred work and the island’s hives yield their seasonal honey, Kokomo quietly ushers in one of its most enchanting rituals: the Honey Bliss Exfoliation. Offered for just one week after each harvest, this ephemeral treatment is a love letter to both sustainability and sensuality, an island-grown indulgence that celebrates the fruits (and flowers) of Kokomo’s own land.
The story begins in the island’s organic farm, where a handful of hardworking hives produce around 20 kilograms of honey each quarter. Overseen by Sai, Kokomo’s dedicated farm manager, the beekeeping program is part of a broader vision of self-sufficiency that extends from soil to spa. Most of the harvest goes to the kitchen, where it’s drizzled into chocolate honeycomb or whipped into vinaigrettes, but a small, sacred amount is reserved for Yaukuve Spa Sanctuary, where nature meets nurture.
Enter: Yvette Muller, the Spa and Wellness Manager whose passion for plant-based healing has shaped many of Kokomo’s signature rituals. Inspired by the ancient use of honey in skincare - long revered for its antibacterial properties, enzymes, and gentle humectant magic - Yvette designed a full-body exfoliation treatment that lets the honey sing. “It’s raw, it’s local, and it’s alive,” she says. “The skin drinks it in.”
But this is no sugar-scrub-in-a-sachet situation. The Honey Bliss Exfoliation is applied with the reverence of a ritual - slow, warm, and with purpose - paired with Fijian fresh sugar cane extracts and followed by a hydrating massage that leaves skin luminous and spirit lifted. As with many things at Kokomo, the treatment is as much about connection as it is results. Connection to the land, to the island rhythms, and to oneself.
The offering is deliberately elusive, there’s no mention on the official spa menu, no glossy flyers in-room, just a quiet note for in-house guests when harvest season arrives. Think of it as an island secret, shared only with those lucky enough to be here at just the right time. More than just a beauty treatment, Kokomo’s honey ritual is a subtle but powerful symbol of what the island does best: reimagining luxury as something local, grounded, and alive. It's not about extravagance, it’s about intention and transformation through nature, one golden drop at a time.
And if that transformation happens to come with glowing skin and the scent of wildflowers? Well, that sounds pretty great to us too.
