Cave Dive

Explore one of our favourite caves at dive site ‘Grotto’. With an amazing network of caves to swim through it is an exciting adventure for the curious diver.

Coral Dives

Enjoy a mesmerizing underwater spectacle. The Great Astrolabe Reef and Solo Reef are brimming with vibrant hard and soft corals and dazzling reef fish like anthias and damsels.

Drift Dives

Wall Dives

Experience the breathtaking vertical landscapes of our wall dives, where sites like 'Corner' and 'Rainbows End' feature lush, steep walls teeming with vibrant soft corals and underwater vistas.

Fiji’s Underwater Oasis

The Great Astrolabe Reef, one of Fiji’s largest barrier reef systems stretching over 100km, is a stunning underwater oasis rich in marine life. Certified divers can explore 30 diverse sites (weather permitting), featuring passageways, swim-throughs, walls, and caves.

Known as the Soft Coral Capital of the World, the reef also showcases impressive hard corals. Across 60 protected reserves, divers may encounter over 1,000 fish species, 200 coral species, reef mantas, as well as frequent sightings of green turtles and whitetip reef sharks.

DIVING ADVENTURES

Our daily boat dives depart at 9:00am or 3:00pm. Set your diving goals and let our certified instructors tailor each dive to your experience, ensuring a personalised underwater adventure. For something different, meet your instructor on West Beach for a night dive on our house reef, where your torch reveals nocturnal creatures, crustaceans, baby reef sharks, and glowing plankton.

DIVING

For those budding dive enthusiasts (8-9 years) Kokomo offers the PADI Bubblemaker Program. Designed to introduce children to scuba diving, the PADI Bubblemaker Program teaches children how to blow bubbles and how to take their first breaths underwater.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Fiji is a year round dive destination, with something to see every day of the year in the Great Astrolabe Reef and Solo Reef.

The water temperature ranges from 24˚C (75˚F) in the cooler months (July – October), reaching up to 30˚C (86˚F) over summer (December – February).

Visibility averages between 15-20m (50-65ft) year-round, increasing to 30m (98ft) between July-October, when the water temperature is cooler.

Manta Rays are most likely to be encountered between April and October.

We have everything you need on-site, including a wide selection of short and long wetsuits, as well as fins.

We have a fleet of four dive boats (Atlantis, Tabua, Explorer and Nautilus) which can seat between 8 to 12 divers, depending on the vessel.

We recommend waiting at least 12 hours after a single tank dive or 18 hours after two or more tank dives, prior to flying on any aircraft.

No experience is necessary to dive on Kokomo. Take part in a two hour introductory Discover Scuba Diver course or if you are staying for 4 days or more, obtain your full PADI Open Water diver license.

While not a scuba certification course, PADI’s Discover Scuba Dive is a quick and easy introduction to exploring the underwater world. While no prior experience is necessary, you must be at least 10 years old and must be in reasonable physical health. Conditions may apply. Please reach out to our Guest Experience team for more information.

Children aged 8 and above can learn to dive in the safety of the pool, while those aged 10 and above can begin diving in Kokomo’s house reef. All age restrictions have been set by PADI based on research relating to lung development. Please refer to the ‘Certifications’ section for further details of age and depth limits.

For your safety, we permit a maximum of three dives per day. Unfortunately right now we do not have an operational recompression chamber in Fiji and we wish to keep everyone as safe as physically possible whilst having a great time.

There is currently no working recompression chamber in Fiji. Please be advised Travel Insurance is strongly required.

If you are thinking of doing any scuba diving (introductory or tank dives) during your stay, please fill out the latest PADI Medical Form below and email it to our Guest Experience team [email protected]. We can also connect you to do your e-learning prior to arrival at the island as this will speed up the process and allow you the opportunity to learn in advance of your arrival.

Kokomo holds a medical and emergency evacuation insurance policy for students while they are participating in diving activities under the supervision of Kokomo’s PADI qualified instructors. This cover is subject to policy terms, conditions, limits and exclusions. This insurance is arranged on a group basis and does not take into account individual circumstances. You may still require travel insurance or other personal insurance depending on your own circumstances.
We would always recommend purchasing dive insurance, if you are planning on diving during your stay.
